Lady Moon

We woke up to the Lady Moon

It was 5:45 and the surroundings were still

She hung majestically in the robes of father sky

Her nourishing gaze filled us with hope

That sense of possibility that anything can happen

The oysters are at our fingertips

She was a beacon of guiding light

Directing turtle hatchlings into the ocean’s tender arms

Dawn’s rays arrived from the East

Giving pale yellow hues to the West

She lingered to witness the night turning to day

And as the day brightened and her look turned gray

She reminded us of her guiding presence

Available to us when we needed her
