Raw crystals with rugged edges

Those are emotions

Nothing is ever smooth

They change shape

Based on the light

Crack under pressure

Store them in an air tight container

They may preserve far too long

Only to oxidize when exposed to air

Water them daily

And they may die

From over nurturing

Water them on occasion

Add fresh air and a touch of sunlight

They bloom happily

Treat them just so

And they’ll even sprout

Into a delectable fruit
