Cracks

A crack likes to slip

Easy to miss

A subtle twitch of the eyelid

Tear that doesn’t drop

A slight tremble in a smile

Meek contortion of the face

A weight between words

Loneliness clothed in appearance

A look lost in the flight of a bird

Missed thread in conversation

A pause before an answer

Echo of silence

A hand that craves compassion

Skin yearns for soft touch

A life may feel different

Pain looks the same
